Are you missing the cute little happy faces and frowny faces from your texts and emails? Yeah, I’ll admit it, I was, when I got my iPhone, but there is a solution, if you have a jailbroken iPhone, with Cydia installed.

The solution is “Emoji”. You can find it in Cydia, from iSpazio. iSpazio’s repo should be default in Cydia, but if you don’t have it, add this: htttp://www.ispaziorepo.com/cydia/apt. The install is simple, but then you need to make it active.

Do a search in Cydia for Emoji. Tap it, and then install. There is no UI for this, so don’t go looking for it on your home screen. Get out of Cydia. Go into Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Japanese, then make sure Emoji is set to “ON”.

That’s it. You can now access emoticons right from your keyboard, in any keyed app. Just look for the “globe” key, next to the space bar. Works in both native and landscape keyboard.
