screenshot_01FINALLY!!! Here’s the details from the Dev’s blog:

SUMMARY:

The iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the 3GS out of the box. If your iPhone 3GS has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.

The iPod 2G is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the iPod 2G was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the iPod 2G with 3.1 software out of the box.”

You can download Pwnage Tool 3.1.3 here. As of the time of this post, The Pirate Bay was pretty bogged down, with everyone jumping aboard the update train.

Update: Okay, downloading mine now. I will do another tutorial, if the process is really different from this tutorial I did for the last release:

UPDATE: The process is almost the same as Pwnage Tool 3.1, with a couple of differences. First: DO NOT UPDATE TO THE OFFICIAL 3.1 IPSW FROM ITUNES!! This tool will be useless to you. Second: When you select iPhone 3G [S], Pwnage Tool will search for IPSW’s for both 3G and 3GS; make sure you pick the right one! 3G = iPhone1,2_3.1_7C144, 3GS = iPhone2,1_3.1_7C144.

UPDATE: When creating your 3GS custom firmware, you will no longer get help going into DFU mode, at the end of the process. I just got this message:
