Whenever there is a new iPhone OS released, there is, without fail, those who need their iPhone unlocked, accidentally update to the new firmware and lose their jailbreak and unlock. They immediately hit the forums complaining that there isn’t a jailbreak right away.

Well, news isn’t looking good, today from the redsn0w or blackra1n camps. iPhone Dev Team member, cpich3G has said:

“Apple closed a couple of bugs in the USB control codes in 3.1.3 including the one we used for 3.1.2 jailbreak.”

George Hotz (aka: geohot), creator of the blackra1n jailbreak, had this to say:

“There is no solution for 3.1.3 on newer devices or 05.12.01 There is no untethered jailbreak. I don’t know if/when these things will exist.”

The cat and mouse game continues! Will we see a jailbreak for 3.1.3, and or future firmwares and devices? Who knows, but there always be someone trying. Especially with the iPad coming this year.
